Light, Dark, Light

The task was to "describe a space". I decided to do it by using just a little light and sounds, that are specific for each rooms, places in house. So i started a journey from fire's light, through darkness, to star's light.

Darkness makes you look more carefully, requires work of all your senses. It helps you see more.

Batik

I don't remember when last time i was so fascinated with something until i tried batik. Amazing technique! You cannot be sure what will be the final result of your work and it's always  delighting. What i like the most about it is that unpredictability and colours. I made few bookmarks and using them is a real pleasure. Now i'm thinking of preparing works with Japanese themes. I even found a perfect place where it could be exhibited, but shh... It's still in plans!

Pinch of magic

I'm reading "Chocolat" by Joanne Harris and it makes me longing for Christmas (even if it's about Lent). Magic hidden in chocolates and pralines, in smiles, words and gesture. I like to colour my every day routine with some "magical" rituals. One of them is lighting candles. Troubles seem to give away from candle flame, thoughts are given the light and hope.
I like to imagine, that i put some magic powder into my coffee that will give me some extra power or something, even if it's just a cinnamon ;)

Personality collage

Piece by piece we're building our lives. Trying to organize past, cope with present and plan future. Sometimes i wonder, if my life is a puzzle, where each piece has it right place? Or a patchwork, a whole made of different fabrics, but still looking good? Maybe collage is the best word for it? As all-knowing Wikipedia says: "A collage (From the French: coller, to glue) is a work of formal art, primarily in the visual arts, made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole."

I like the part "creating a new whole". From memories, past events, meetings, dreams, adventures, plans, uncertainties, hopes, relationships, ... Neverending story that you have to write again and again.

Granny's sweater

One of my sisters told me, that i like "grandma style" sweaters and believe, that wasn't a compliment. I decided not to worry about it-not everyone must like totally sexy style, especially when beautiful sunny autumn is turning into cold winter!

Sending energy into Space

For sure you know the feeling when nothing's going right, and actually, nothing is going (to happen). It's like the air has stopped, the same with time. Not even a single text message; refreshing your mail doesn't help either. Nothing interesting on TV. You're hungry, but you don't know what to eat. It's like standing on the edge of the Black Hole.

I don't know how about you, but i hate this state and worked out a method. I called it "sending energy into space". Sounds sort of weird? :D
The point is just to do something, e.g. turn your favourite music on,  go for a walk, write a mail, take a pencil and draw or write something, go sleep, light a candle or,usually working for me, prepare a delicious coffee in your favourite mug and delight each sip!

L'art de la simplicite

Have You ever noticed that the most beautiful things are the simple one? That simple paintings, drawings, outfits, songs, movies can scream louder than these complicated, exaggerated, overloaded?

That's why i like Japanese philosophy. For them the simpliest things like writing letters, folding paper or preparing and drinking tea is a ceremony! It's incredible how Your life may look like when everyday You participate in a ceremony... Neverending ball, feast!

Have You been ever delighted with a single line or a spot?

The ode to my glasses

My glasses are like a part of my body-the only one I can take off before I go to sleep or change for a nicer model. They suggested eye contacts but... I'll feel like a traitor. My glasses and me,a match made in heaven, together since primary school ;)

Another thing about my glasses-they're always dirty. I'm rather pedantic than messy, so why I left them uncontrolled at this point? What's worst... Once my polish language teacher said, that cleanliness of your glasses shows your manners. Ups!

But anyway... Recently I discovered, that glasses are a great topic to draw- examples below!

P.S. I forgot to tell You, I'll dare to publish here my drawings and photographs ;)
